Did you catch the American Idol finals last year in between Taylor Hicks and Catherine What’s Her Name? The one with the finest voice?
So lots of entrepreneurs lose their time and cash bragging about being the best. “We offer the finest doohickeys …” “We provide the finest customer service …” ‘
It’s dopey to brag about being the best! Why? ‘Cause
1. Everyone states it.
2. It’s most likely not true.
3. We don’t believe you anyway
Do not worry about it, ’cause
4. We’re not constantly trying to find the very best.
Look at singers. The most well-known. The most liked. Are they the very best? Rod Stewart’s what, 92? And still producing hit albums! “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” No Rod. I do not. When the tune came out and certainly not now, not 30 years back. But somehow a geriatric Rod got to wiggle his possessions on American Idol together with Taylor Hicks! Bad Catherine is doing a lame cameos on Ugly Betty.
The “It” Factor
In showbiz, there’s an expression “You’ve got ‘it’.” What’s “it”?
The factor they call it “it” is since it’s hard to put it into words. It’s got something to do with charm, magnetism, the power to bring in and hold an audience. Frankly, Rod Stewart never ever did it for me, but Elvis definitely had “it”.
Gain Access To Your Inner Elvis
I just saw a film about Elvis’ life. Why are people so interested by Elvis? Why are they still telling me “Tsufit, I simply saw Elvis at a corner store!” when he died prior to Britney Spears was born? Why? Because a personality that big never ever passes away.
Why was the man such a star? Was it his look, his character, his voice, his music? It’s most likely all of those things– together with this wonderful thing called “it”, but even with Elvis, it took him a while to discover his inner “it”.
In the film, a docu-drama (or shlock-u-drama), Elvis strolls into Sun Records, a little Memphis recording studio, to sing for Sam Phillips. Elvis sings like Bill Monroe; he sings like Bing Crosby; he sings like yesterday’s news. Simply another vocalist. A cent a dozen.
It wasn’t a quickie, even for Elvis, to discover his original voice. He kept at it and Phillips kept pushing him. Eventually he did find it. And the rest is history!
What’s this got to do with entrepreneurs? Everything!
You got ta discover your original voice. 축구중계 You got ta access your Inner Elvis!
Do that and watch your star shine.
